Hey guys, Chantal here! So I was asked to write a post about a game I thought could have been better and why. I haven’t played many bad games, but I do have one that comes to mind. It’s a game from one of my favorite video games series of all time – Fable.
Fable (or Fable: The Lost Chapters, which is the one I prefer of the two) is my favorite game of the entire series. The storyline was phenomenal, the game play was great, the combat was easy to control, and the game itself was overall satisfying to me. Fable III was very intense! The dramatic decisions you had to make right in the beginning were very difficult, the story was… As I said, intense! No other word for it! The combat was great as well, the spell casting was very different though and sometimes I’d accidentally cast a spell instead of run because I’d get the buttons mixed up, lol. ^.^
The only game missing here is obviously Fable II. I’m not the only one who made it their least favorite of the series, the game got a lot of mixed reviews. The first thing that bothered me was if you chose to be a woman, making her to be as the game says “most attractive,” she’d look fat and way too muscular for a woman’s build (Thank God that was changed in the third game). The quests were too repetitive, the story was weak, the combat was a little strange, and the final battle wasn’t much of a battle at all. However, things like this make me wonder. I’ve had people tell me they won’t give the rest of the series a chance because of one bad apple. Why is this? Do they think the creators can’t come back with something amazing? This being Fable III, which to me was MUCH of an improvement.
Overall, the Fable series has given me an amazing experience and I highly recommend it. Especially for people who aren’t quite ready for the very IN DEPTH RPG’s. This series is just enough in depth for me to where I don’t feel overwhelmed, lol. Even though Fable II wasn’t at the standards I had hoped for, the series itself is still one of my favorites and will play over and over again, feeling just as satisfied as I did when I first played it.
Let us know what game YOU thought could have been better in the comments below. =)
